What a couple of weeks for Leicester City. I haven't blogged in a while but this really has forced me to do so. A couple of weekends ago I was preparing to go and see Paulo Sousa's Leicester side struggle against relegation favourites, Scunthorpe United, when up pops a message and the news that he has gone! Finally...I'd been expecting it but not the day before a match. We won the match 3-1, maybe a reaction, but with a good performance.
The man to be the guest of honour, and future manager of Leicester City, was the biggest surprise though. Alan Pardew and Martin O'Neill were two optimistic names to be raised but the name of former Lazio, Man City and England manager, Sven Goran Eriksson was ridiculous, surely?
Now, a week later, Leicester City comfortably beat the Thailand national team 2-0 with the Swede at the helm, in preparation for the man who he needs to live up to coming with his Hull City side. I think Sven will either sink or win an Olympic medal with this team. He looks impressed and has been promised funds for the next transfer window so hopefully he can work his magic.
Exciting times. I'll leave you with this little gem from a few years back.
