Finally Fitting Together: Barnsley 0-2 Leicester City

When Paulo Sousa took over as Leicester manager he wanted a passing, attacking side that dominated matches but that kept the great defensive record of the past seasons.  In Leicester's 2-0 win over Barnsley, that dream seems to have arrived, no thanks to Sousa but to Sven!

Barnsley, attacking our end in the first half, didn't manage one shot on target whereas the Foxes hit ten over the match.  The Tykes had such little influence in those first 45 minutes that their manager swapped both their forwards in an effort to change the game.  After Vitor's first goal for the club (he's getting better as the games go on) and the half time break they got into the game bit more but couldn't break down the Leicester defence.

The view from my seat
Leicester still need to take their chances rather than pass on, we could have won by more if we had done so.  nevertheless, after some great work from Howard and Cunningham, Gallagher was freed to gallop down the wing towards the away faithful with ten minutes to go to cross from King to slot in his sixth of the season.  It topped off a great performance which results in consecutive wins and consecutive clean sheets which is a first this year!

Sven has managed to bring back confidence, to shape the team into the side it should be and, although through loan signings, finally secure the back line.  He is quickly becoming a hero...
Worth the time and money to see!
