A Proverb a Day

Over the summer I got to know a group of amazing people from Starkville, Mississippi including Grant Arinder, the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church there.  This month he and the Calvary congregation are reading one chapter of Proverbs for each day of the next month (there are 31 chapters), collecting thoughts on the book at the Twitter hashtag #aprovaday.

I would like to invite all of my followers to join the congregation at Calvary and read a chapter of Proverbs a day. Share @ #aprovaday

I like the idea, especially the integration with Twitter, and will be trying to read along with my brothers and sisters across the pond!

Proverbs has lots of wisdom, being a collection of guidance and advice King Solomon gave to his son, himself being the son of King David (of David and Goliath fame), and challenging yourself to read a certain part of the Bible is a great thing to do.  So do read along or, if you can't, keep an eye on the hashtag on Twitter to see what those reading a Prov a day are learning.
