Prodigal Away Win is Overshadowed by Injury

Finally Leicester City managed a win out of Leicestershire today against an old manager, Nigel Pearson, and his Hull City team.  But for a bad leg break for on-loan Man City left-back, Greg Cunningham it was a great start to the year for the Foxes.

Darius Vassell volleys Leicester ahead. (lcfc.com)
On a day where former top-scorer Matty Fryatt left to Hull City, three points were taken back by a team in terrible away form against a team in great home form.

Positives
  - an away win finally which was needed
  - a goal for Darius Vassell is always good and it was a peach apparently
  - our sixth clean sheet of the season was also very much needed
  - just three points from the play-off positions now
  - the now vacant left-back position paves the way for Bruno Berner to make a comeback

Negatives
  - another lack of putting away chances, only one out of ten shots went in and there were clear chances for Gally and Dyer in this match which should have been goals
  - the teams all around us have games in hand...missing chances in the winter period and under Sousa will costs us when these teams catch up
  - a broken leg for Greg Cunningham is a terrible piece of news which will possibly mean his last match in a royal blue top

Overall I'm a happy Leicester City fan this New Year's Day in our first away win for two months and a first New Year's Day win since 1994.  Bring on Swansea in 48 hours!
